Chino Hills AYSO Region 779

AYSO Core

What AYSO Core is and how it serves Region 779 families

The AYSO Core Program is the primary AYSO experience and serves the majority of our players across the 6U through 19U divisions. In Region 779, Core is where most kids begin their soccer journey - the place where friendships form, confidence grows, and the love of the game takes root. It’s built for fun, learning, teamwork, and player development.

Each division is designed to be age‑appropriate, engaging, and grounded in AYSO’s Six Philosophies, which shape how we coach, support, and inspire every player..

AYSO's Six Philosophies

  • Everyone Plays® - Every child plays at least half of every game; no one sits on the bench.
  • Open Registration - Any child can join; no tryouts or cuts.
  • Balanced Teams - Teams are formed as evenly as possible so the focus stays on learning, teamwork, and sportsmanship rather than wins/losses.
  • Positive Coaching - Coaches are trained to create a supportive, encouraging environment that builds confidence and skill.
  • Good Sportsmanship - Players, coaches, and families model respect and positivity on and off the field.
  • Player Development - Every child grows in skill, understanding, and love of the game at their own pace.
Fall and Spring differ in structure, but both are Core seasons and use the same AYSO standards. Fall functions as the primary season, and Spring operates with a reduced format. Both remain aligned with Core expectations.

Fall Overview

Fall is the primary AYSO season in Region 779 and the time of year when our fields are at their busiest. With full teams, a complete game schedule, and the classic Core structure, Fall provides a consistent weekly rhythm that helps players build skills, confidence, and connection. It’s a full, structured season that carries families from late summer through mid‑November with practices, matches, and community‑wide activity

Final eligibility is determined by the Referee and Coach Administration based on points.

Practice Information

Practice Locations (6U-8U)

6U-8U teams may practice at AYSO-approved parks and schools within Chino Hills city limits. Because approval varies by site, coaches should contact their Division Coordinator to confirm that AYSO has permission to use their preferred park or school before scheduling practices.

When selecting a practice location, coaches are encouraged to choose a park with restroom access and to plan ahead for the fall time change. Most neighborhood parks do not have lights, so practices later in the season may need to be scheduled earlier in the afternoon to ensure adequate daylight.

Practice areas at approved locations are not assigned and operate on a first-come basis. No division has priority over another.

Practice Duration

  • 6U-8U teams may practice up to 2 hours per week.
  • Typical sessions run 45-60 minutes.

Scheduling

  • Coaches choose their own practice days and times.
  • After teams are formed, coaches will contact families with their practice schedule and location.

Off-Limits Locations

The following locations may not be used for practices:

  • Ayala High School.
  • Chaparral Elementary.
  • Chino Hills High School.

  • Glenmeade Elementary.
