AYSO places players into divisions using a school-year age matrix that
follows the U.S. Soccer standard. A child's division is determined by their
age during the period August 1 through July 31, which keeps
players grouped with peers in the same school-year range.
For example, a child who is 5 years old on August 1 will be
assigned to the 6U division for the upcoming Fall season.
This system keeps teammates closer in age, supports balanced development,
and helps players stay with their classmates and friends. To find the
correct division for your child, please refer to the age chart above, which
uses the official school-year age guidelines.
